Tidewalker

An endless walk on a quiet, shared beach

Tidewalker is a slow, quiet iPhone game about walking a shore that never ends. Look down, notice something, pick it up, turn it over in your hand. Keep it, or put it back where it lay.

Everyone walks the same beach. Each shell, stone, piece of sea glass, and driftwood is a unique 3D object that is made once and exists once. If someone keeps it, it’s gone for everyone. The tide brings new things in twice a day, following the real moon, and the tide table on the start screen is the real one. Finds are meant to be hard to come by. That’s the point.

The game is built in Unity (URP) with an endless procedural beach: ground tiles, GPU-instanced pebbles where every one can be picked up, the sea, headlands, a day cycle, and weather that includes post-storm and windy days. A recorded soundscape plays under it. Finds are generated procedurally in Blender, and a Python game server deals them out to the shared shore. Tidewalker is in beta on TestFlight, and the beta is open to join.
